KUALA LUMPUR: The excise duty on cigarettes has been increased to 15 sen effective yesterday.
According to a Finance Ministry statement, this means that duty for a 20-stick pack of cigarettes has gone up by 60 sen.
The ministry said the move was in line with the Government’s effort to encourage a healthy lifestyle and to curb social problems due to smoking especially among youngsters.
You think the the 60 sens can do any harm to the smoker ? Please lah my lovable malaysia goverment... give them a 6 ringgit raise... then you maybe can give them little impact...
